No straw, no problem — that’s easy to say when you’re a hot coffee drinker, but what about for those of us that can’t resist a cold or nitro brew in the warm Florida summer afternoons? The straw is almost essential, and yeah, straws are bad for the environment. We get it. But we still want them, right?
Kahwa now offers you an alternative to single-use plastic straws. For $11.50-12.75, you can pick from three reusable glass straw sizes which come with a lifetime straw warranty. Do your small part for the environment and still enjoy your cold coffee beverages the way you want without the straw-guilt.
“We feel like it’s our duty as a local establishment to support the things we’re passionate about whole-heartedly,” said Sarah Perrier, co-owner of Kahwa Coffee. “We can say we care about the environment all we want, but if we don’t take initiative, it won’t make a difference.”
Kahwa is one of over 75 other local establishments that support the No Straws St. Pete movement, a campaign to reduce the use of single-use plastics starting with straws by making straws available only upon request at all locations (including Tampa, Sarasota and Miami) or actually switching to a more sustainable alternative, the glass straw!
